I have to admit that today's mani isn't necessarily Me, but it's so adorable that I can't help but love it. Quite recently, I picked up a few new plates from Beauty Big Bang and one of them was this Hello Kitty themed plate that I just couldn't resist. I've been doing more reverse stamping lately and I just, for some reason, couldn't wait to get these images onto my nails.

If I was going to do super cute Hello Kitty nails, I had to go all in, right? Choosing a base polish for this mani was actually a bit of a process, but in the end I went for a really soft pink linear holo polish from Nails Inc. I applied two coats, which gave me mostly full opacity and a really strong holo flash.

For my stamping, I wanted to start with a full cover image to give some texture to the background so I started by applying this really cute bows image to all of my nails using a white stamping polish. Next, I started building my decals. I picked up the image on my stamper using black stamping polish and then filled in the image using a dotting tool, nail art brush and a selection of quite pigmented polishes (I much prefer building opacity without having to use too much product so that the finished product is smooth on my nails.)

After letting the decals dry down until they wouldn't smear but were still flexible, I applied a thin coat of sticky base coat, focusing on the area that I knew I would be placing the image, and then let that dry for about a minute or so to let it get tacky. I then just transferred my image straight from the stamper to the nail, doing my best to keep it centered.

Once I had all of my stamping finished and I was happy with the results, I first sealed it in with a water based top coat and then finished with a generous coat of quick dry glossy top coat. And voila!
